thoughts about life

"Christians" are such a cheap date for the Republican party.
Mainstream churches hold a primary responsibility for the election of George W. Bush and for the success of Republicans on a national and local level. What do the Republicans give in return? No to gay marriage and abortion. Yes to school prayer and posting the Ten Commandments. What is the out of pocket cost?
ZIP.
Jesus never condemned a person accused of sexual sin. However, he had some seriously harsh words on matters of money. The Old Testament stories are not about people of puritan standards; and again, the harshest condemnation is against those who deny the orphan and the widow.
Republican Christians do not need to become Democrats any more the Democrat Christians need to become Republican. Both groups need to demand more for their vote than cheap rhetoric. Christian values need to hit the pocketbook. The "working poor" should not exist in a "Christian" nation. Christians should be able to work together to prevent the conditions that influence a woman to choose abortion. Christians should demand a "living wage" for the worker instead of another tax break for the affluent.
Christians need to raise the price tag on their vote.
